Are We Responsible for Subcontractors' PF and ESI Payments? Seeking Quick Advice!

Hi, my company is executing civil work for a client. For this, we have many subcontractors. These subcontractors are registered with ESI and are exempted from PF as they have less than 10 employees. They have paid ESI to the department on time.

Question on Payroll and ESI

My question is, do we have to cover these employees in our payroll and pay PF on their behalf? If yes, what is to be done for ESI? Paid again?

Please obtain the exemption order copy from your contractors. If they do not provide it, cover their employees under your code and deduct the amount from the contractors.
