Query on Leave Registers and Salary Payments

I have a query regarding our leave registers. Can anybody tell me if we are receiving our salary in our bank accounts, is there a requirement to maintain a Leave with Wages register? Also, what is the standardized way to make entries in the National and Festival Holiday register as well as in the Leave with Wages register?

Entries in National and Festival Holiday Register

When it comes to the National Holiday and Festival Register, should we fill it based on the employees' date of joining?

Kindly share your insights and suggestions as much as you all can...

In India, as per the Factories Act, 1948, and Shops and Establishments Acts of different states, it is mandatory for employers to maintain a Leave with Wages Register. This register should contain details of leave availed by each employee along with the wages paid during such leave periods. Even if salaries are directly credited to employees' bank accounts, the Leave with Wages Register must be maintained for compliance purposes.

For the National and Festival Holiday Register, entries should be made based on the actual holidays observed by the organization. It is not necessary to align these entries with the employees' date of joining. The register should clearly document all national holidays, festival holidays, and any other holidays specific to the organization. Ensure that entries are accurate and up to date to reflect the holiday schedule effectively.
