Dear Subash
As you mentioned that a contract has been offered to you.
Now is it just one sheet of paper which says offer letter. Is it just the appointment letter or the letter of content or a proper contract.
Letter of content is provided to the employee on either the day of interview (when selected) or later before the first day of joining the company stating the salary, welcome and, your position in the company, timings of work, joining formalities forms to be presented on the first day of work and your start date.
Then you are offered the contract letter which is a brief terms and conditions and form of employee handbook describing the details of company's rules and regulations. this also states whether your are a contract or temporary employee and the time of your probation period in the company.
Third, after almost 15 days or a month so (depending on company to company), provides you with appointment letter which provides almost the similiar details but is just one page or max of 2.
Please refer to your offer letter and see what it states. It can be easily identified as if the company has hired you only for temporary employment, then it should and must mention the termination of contract on the letter offered (start date and end date of the project).
If not, then it is most probably the permanent employment and must mention the probation period coz if the employment is of temporary nature, then it will first confirm the dates and second no mentioning of probation period (unless the temp contract is more than a year which is not often seen).
In case of any queries, Please give me a shout.
