One of my colleagues, who is a staff car driver, wants to avail compensatory leave. However, in the office, they are insisting on taking overtime allowance. Can he take compensatory leave instead of receiving cash?
Compensatory time off is the most unstructured leave benefit. It's never clearly documented and is always attached with the clause "at the discretion of the reporting manager," which you can interpret as "at the mercy of your manager."
Kindly verify if the driver is on the organization's payroll and if compensatory benefits are applicable to him. My assumption is that he has the right to claim leaves and refuse the cash benefit.
