How Can I Claim My Gratuity After Resigning? Seeking Advice on Next Steps

geetakhare
I worked in an organization for 5 years and 7 months. I resigned in June 2013 properly, was relieved, and paid for the notice period. However, as per the rules, they have not paid my Gratuity. I was entitled to PF since the day I joined the organization.

Could you please suggest if I can send them a notice or a registered letter to pay the Gratuity, even though the Gratuity part was not mentioned in the Appointment Letter?

Thank you.

Did you discuss the case with the HR of the firm? Ideally, I would suggest you go to the office and meet the HR in person to inform them that your gratuity amount has not been received. If they mention that it would take some time to clear the payments, request them to include it on the Full and Final (F&F) receipt.

If not, you can email them using the company's mail system, stating that you resigned on [DATE], were relieved on [DATE], and your F&F was completed on [DATE]. Since the gratuity amount was missing even after serving a total of 5.7 years, I raised a query regarding the same. I was informed ....................................

Hence, I request you to personally look into the matter and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
