Worried About Being Blacklisted by Wipro? How to Check Your NSR Status and Next Steps

Hi, I recently received an offer from Wipro. They collected all my documents, and afterward, informed me that my previous company was not found and is considered a blacklisted company, leading to the cancellation of the offer. If the previous company is closed or not paying taxes, that is not my fault. I accepted the situation, and the discussion ended. However, since then, I am not receiving other opportunities or calls. I clear all rounds of interviews, but the final confirmation is being put on hold.

Question About Blacklisting in NSR

My question is, did Wipro blacklist me in NSR and share details with other companies? Is there any possibility of this kind of activity happening? If Wipro did so, my entire future will collapse. I feel like I have no other option but to give up because I don't know any other work besides having a job.

Please, please, please let me know about this, and inform me how to check if a candidate is blacklisted in NSR or on any website.

Have Wipro given you back all your documents? Everyone has the option of not giving up. How many jobs did you apply to and get interviewed for? I know people who applied for jobs and did not receive offers for over 6 months, yet they did not think of giving up. I had been out of a job for 9 months, and I used that time to enhance my knowledge and skills.

So, do not lose hope easily. I am certain that others who are more knowledgeable will answer your remaining questions.

I submitted all documents to Wipro through their online system. I have attended two interviews, and those two have not been confirmed, but I completed all rounds of interviews in those two instances. They told me that I have technically cleared all rounds, but we need to get final confirmation.

One company shortlisted me for an interview and scheduled it. After two days, they called me and informed me that my CV was sent again for screening, and they mentioned that my profile was not shortlisted. It seems that Wipro has done something.

Please, please, can anyone suggest what I should do?

Straight response to your query about blacklisting on NSR: There is NO SCOPE for anyone or any company to blacklist any person on NSR. The NSR does not provide for it at all. This is just not possible.

Also, I think you are giving a lot of credit to the "interconnectedness" within the IT industry. For Wipro to circulate your name (at a junior level) across the entire industry and then for you to get rejected on that basis is really far-fetched. This is totally unrealistic.

All I can say is that your rejection must have been on account of:
(i) the company finding you not being up to the mark,
(ii) their needs having changed, or
(iii) there might be unexplained gaps in your service record.

You need to look within yourself to understand where the problem might lie. Each company gets more applications for employment than they need; therefore, they will pick and choose who they feel are the best. This is not a reflection on the competence of an applicant but just that their needs may not match with your qualifications/experience.

That was really uncalled for! Marim is probably in a highly emotional state since this affects her life. If you could kindly show more humanity rather than posting such cruel statements 'publicly on the net,' it would be appreciated. I agree with Rajubhatnaga's comment. NSR can collate the information but not blacklist anyone to my knowledge. Please find out the exact reason why you weren't selected and then rectify the issue.

I have joined a company and worked only for 5 business days. Due to family reasons, I have to leave the company. However, I have informed the manager about the situation. It's been 3 months since then, and I am still searching for a new job. I am scared that the company has blacklisted me or put a negative remark towards me on NASSCOM/Skill Registry.

Also, please keep in mind that neither NASSCOM nor NSR endorses or supports any blacklisting or posting of negative remarks about any employee. No employee can be blacklisted, and negative remarks cannot be uploaded on any of NASSCOM's or NSR's sites.

More often than not, this is a threatening approach used by some HR Managers to try to manage their attrition rates in an unscrupulous manner.

I would suggest that you need to look elsewhere for reasons for not getting a job. At least on this front, neither NASSCOM nor NSR are to be blamed.

First of all, I would like to comment, "RELAX." Based on my understanding and experience, you might have been rejected, or the employer may have changed their mind, or there might have been changes in their hiring plan related to Business Unit Attrition or cost center.

Blacklisting Concerns

I agree with Mr. Bhatnagar's words. No company can blacklist any candidates. Hence, I advise you to please relax and wait for the right time, and please don't think of dying. Don't lose hope and faith in yourself. What if you were rejected by Wipro for XYZ or any other reason? You should be happy that you cleared all rounds at Wipro, as it's not easy for everyone to clear such tough interview rounds there.

Recruitment Challenges Due to Closed Previous Company

I am looking at your problem from a recruitment perspective. You mentioned that your previous company has closed down. There is a possibility that the companies where you are shortlisted are running a background check on your credentials. Since your previous company is closed and there is no one to endorse your association with that organization, maybe you are failing in the background check. Frankly, there are a lot of fake companies issuing fake letters existing in the market, some of which have even created websites. Hence, the background verification process is conducted by most of the big companies as a part of the recruitment process.

Anyhow, do give a thought on this point. If you have worked for a short period in this company which is closed down, then I think you can simply remove it from your CV. During the interview, you can mention that you were working with the company but have not mentioned it in your CV because it is closed down. Yet, you can give a reference to some senior people from that company who may acknowledge your work, etc.

I have a doubt: can an employer register their relieved or terminated employees in NSR? I mean, I think they would require fingerprints and all.
