Termination Without Notice: Seeking Guidance

I joined a private limited software company as a Senior HR Executive on June 5th, 2013. Due to this job, I relocated from Chennai to Trichy. After one week, I was sent to the Chennai head office for an induction program. At the end of the week (21.06.13), they gave me a termination notice without any warning or notice. I argued with them and asked for the reason. They told me that my performance was not satisfactory and that I did not meet or ask the department head during the induction program. They terminated me immediately that day itself without a notice period.

Questions Regarding Induction and Termination

1. What is induction? What purpose does induction serve for new joiners?
2. Is the induction program something new joiners should ask for, or is it the employer's responsibility to provide it to new joiners?
3. Can a new joiner be terminated within a month without any warning or notice?
4. How can I claim my losses?
5. Is it possible to apply to the labor court?

Kindly help me, seniors.

You joined there as a Sr. Executive - HR, and you are asking the question, what does Induction mean? I hope you must have the basic knowledge and qualifications to work in HR.

Terminating employees within a week is not justified, but there may be the following reasons:
1. Your background checks may have failed. Have you provided the correct information about your credentials, qualifications, and experience?
2. They may have realized that the hiring was a mistake. In this case, they should give you enough time to explain.
3. The company may be ruthless and unprofessional.

My suggestion is to look back, conduct a self-analysis, and find out why they terminated you.

All the best.

I agree with Mr. Vinod, and I strongly recommend that you must ask for the reason for the termination instead of arguing with them. After that, you should work on that reason for the future.

Regarding the immediate termination, notice period, or loss, please refer to your appointment letter.
