There is no compliance under the EC Act until an employment injury occurs. Some state rules prescribe the publication of extracts of the Act and Rules on the notice board.
Clarification on ESI and EC Act Coverage
The post by Mr. Muralikandukuri stating that all who are covered under ESI are covered automatically under the EC Act is incorrect. Employees covered under ESI are not entitled to the benefits under the EC Act.
Response to Dr. Shylaja's Query
In response to Dr. Shylaja's query, all your employees, irrespective of the nature of work, shall be covered under ESI if their salary is not above Rs 15,000 per month, and your place is in an implemented area. The benefit for others is at your discretion. However, if any employees defined in Schedule Two of the EC Act are working under you, they are entitled to compensation and reimbursement of full medical expenses if they meet with an employment injury.
