Choosing the Right MBA Specialization for an Auto Dealership Career – Is Sikkim Manipal a Good Choice?

arunthearies
I've been working in an automobile dealership for 4 years. Six months ago, I was promoted to assistant service manager. Now, I've started an MBA at Sikkim Manipal University. Please tell me which specialization is best for me. Is Sikkim Manipal a good option?

Thanks.

You have started your study but are still wondering about what specialization to choose. If you don't know where you want to go, you need to check/ask yourself first: What are your interest areas and what are your work-life goals? You first need to share with us what you want to be or do in your life, which actually matters a lot to you. This will enable us to give appropriate responses.

Also, you are working as an Assistant Service Manager and have good experience, which falls under Customer Relationship and Service Management. Therefore, you can consider pursuing a PG Diploma in Customer Relationship Management from any reputed university. The question is, would you be interested in pursuing this?

If yes, you should consider a Sales & Customer Service course. If not, please share your areas of interest along with your current educational qualifications.

Thank you for your response, sir. Actually, I passed my diploma in automobile. After that, I completed my graduation in arts. Currently, I am working in an automobile dealership as a service manager. In the future, I aim to excel as a service manager. However, there is also the option of becoming a Regional Service Manager (RSM), which is a direct position on the company's payroll. To further my career prospects, I have started pursuing an MBA. Could you please advise me on the best specialization for my career goals?

Selecting a specialization has to do with two things - one, career, and two, passion. Follow where your heart leads you. Of the two, your passion plays a more important role, and obviously, only you can judge that.

Career Perspective

Regarding the career perspective, we don't know what electives are offered. If CRM is available, you can consider that.

All the best.
