Are These IT Company Rules in Jaipur Fair? Notice Period, Work Hours, and Salary Deductions

I am working in an IT company in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. I want to know about IT company rules because they are applying their own rules.

Notice Period and Salary Payment

1. The company has a one-month notice period, and they do not pay the salary to the employee during the notice period. The salary is paid one or two months later when the employee leaves the company after completing the notice period.

Work Hours and Compensation

2. The official timing is from 10 AM to 7 PM, but they pressure employees to stay late and complete work without any extra compensation.

New Policy on Salary Increment

3. They recently implemented a new policy stating that if an employee receives an increment, 10% of the total salary would be deducted.

Please help me.

In some small companies, employers fear that if an employee resigns and receives the salary for the previous month, they might leave without serving the notice period. Therefore, they withhold the salary and only pay it after the employee completes the notice period, often with a delay of a month or more. This practice is highly inappropriate.

Working Hours and Compensation

The official working hours are from 10 to 7, but there is pressure to stay late and complete work without any additional compensation. In many private companies, white-collar employees are expected to finish their tasks irrespective of the traditional 8-9 hour working day typical for blue-collar workers. If the workload is excessive and consistent, employees can discuss with HR about hiring temporary or permanent staff to alleviate the work pressure.

Policy on Salary Increment Deductions

They recently implemented a new policy stating that employees who receive an increment will have 10% of their total salary deducted. What is the reason for this policy change? Please provide clarification.

I don't know why they are deducting 10% of the salary after an increment. They said that if you want to take an increment, then 10% of your salary would be deducted. They also apply a policy that if you take one day of leave, then two days' salary will be deducted.

I am frustrated with all these policies. Please suggest what I have to do.
