I saw a report titled "India among World's Least Peaceful Nations." Shocked!

We are the people who were known for world peace, the torchbearers of humanity and culture. We taught the world how to live, and now the day has come when we are highly inhumane. I request you to please impart values to the coming generation; otherwise, there is nothing to say about what the result would be.

Dear Shri Akhilesh Dubey, your presentation is a wake-up call to all Indians to kindle the patriotic fervor in them. You are very right in observing that not very long ago, India was a role model of peace and prosperity. We had a glorious past. The eroding moral values and the creeping of greed in unprecedented proportions have made life in India a challenge for all. The solution lies in inculcating traditional moral values at all levels, starting from children right up to adults.

Thank you for supporting my views. We should be the first ones to take this step, starting with ourselves and our families. If every Indian does this, we will once again be the "Vishwaguru." It's very easy; we are already that, we just need to unveil and return to what we were. This is the land of Lov-Kush, Dhruv, Prahalad, Ram, Krishna, and Vivekananda. This is the land of Sita, Savitri, Durga, Lakshmibai, and Meera.

Children: Our Future and Assets

Children are our future and assets. I think we should start with the children. They are the future of the world. Teach them to respect others and instill good morals. Teach them not to hate anyone, regardless of their differences. Teach them right from wrong.

We need to turn these kids around to become better citizens. We need to stop being overly lenient with our kids. Discipline them when necessary. If we do not do this, they will become arrogant and will not listen to anyone.

First, appreciation to you for taking up this issue and enabling people like us to share our thoughts. Sorry to be harsh, but it is no surprise that we are rated as one of the least peaceful nations. Our recent activities reflect this index. I would like to share the bitter truth that we often dwell on nostalgic memories and have become too narrow-minded. We are heading towards the path of becoming "civilized barbarians."

We have lost our values, ethics, and intelligence by chasing after money. Whatever happens in front of us, "We will just be silent spectators." Though our nation's image is "UNITY IN DIVERSITY," nowadays, due to our selfish behavior, only DIVERSITY remains in HIGH QUOTIENT rather than UNITY.

We blindly follow leaders who don't even know what a layman wants in this nation, and we are deceived by their fantasies and lies. We need to reconsider ourselves, the path we are heading, and what should be done in the future.

Even we don't value relationships much, often using the excuse "I don't have time."

As everything starts at home, we should begin by changing the mindset of people from home, which will eventually lead to a change in society.

Disaster Management Courses are flourishing in institutions and present a great career opportunity. WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE DO WHEN THERE IS A DISASTER?? Is it really development, dear friends, when people are surviving just by eating herbs for many days? We have all the equipment and a lot of money to help them, but still, ROTI costs Rs.30.

Questions on Development and Values

I need answers to these questions: Are we developing? If yes, what is the use of these developments? Are we INDIANS? If yes, are these our values and principles? Why do we pledge in schools, "All Indians are our brothers and sisters"? Are we Humans? Then why do we let other people die? Why can't we help our people? The government claims and announces the budget (Rahat Kosh), but is Rahat really provided?

I am sorry to be too harsh. If a famous politician's son or daughter were to be caught in Uttarakhand, the relief measures would be faster. We, the people, have a "stepmother" mentality of just ignoring and not showing concern for what happens in other parts of the country. Even with a large population like this, we are unaware of the casualty measures that should be taken during emergency situations.

Developments and Societal Concerns

Coming to developments, I would like to give a quote as an answer, "The rich become richer, and the poor become poorer." Yes, we are Indians, but the ethics and care within us are missing.

You should not be sorry to be harsh. If we are not harsh today, this will continue. And of course, you are right; if any politician or film star were there, things would have flowed as best as they can. All who have to suffer are AAM AADMI, common people. I always doubt our constitution... I am sorry, but yes, I mean it. By the people, for the people, of the people... what is there for the people of the people in it? We need a change, and I find everyone in this forum is educated and intellectual. We should initiate.

There is always a problem with us in taking initiatives. We will always go like sheep herds, one behind the other without knowing any reason. The main problem lies with the attitude. We have become so narrow-minded that even the cries of our fellow beings are out of our reach of hearing.

Constitution and Political Responsibility

I second your viewpoint. It should be like "by politicians, for politicians, and of politicians." If our politicians would remember our constitution, they should have taken steps regarding the issue instead of spending time saving money for their whole family.

Awareness and Military Efforts

See how many common men know about "Siachen Peak" and the efforts taken by our military to retain it, and how many people feel about the intruding Chinese army in the Ladakh region. So many problems are going on. Only through initiatives, these problems could be resolved.

A request/suggestion to CHR Admin: If we can start/add a section "INDIA" where we can discuss the developments required, suggestions for betterment, and such topics related to the welfare of our countrymen and motherland. Though I know this is not the objective of CHR, I think it's a responsibility. You may take it as CSR.
