Struggling with Excel to CSV Conversion on Windows 7? Here's How to Fix It

baishya.hrishikesh@ibibo.com
I am trying to convert an ECR Excel file to a comma-delimited file on my laptop running Windows 7 OS. The result I am getting is not in the actual format. When I tried the same on another PC running Windows XP, the results were in the correct format. So, how can I convert the ECR Excel file to a comma-delimited file in Windows 7?

The result I obtained while trying on Windows 7 is named as ECR MAY-13, but the actual result should be named as ECR M-13. Please help me on how to achieve the correct result on Windows 7.

Open the ECR MAY-13 file only in Windows 7 and the ECR M-13 file only in Windows XP.

Thank you in advance.

Hrishikesh

What exactly are you trying to do here? Windows 7 is an operating system, not a program, so you can't "open" something in "Windows 7." You can open something in a program running on the Windows 7 OS.

The file ECR-May-13 is already a CSV file. It will open as a CSV file in Windows Notepad without any problems. I just did it. The same file opens as an Excel spreadsheet without any problems (I am using Excel 2010).

The only reason you would convert an Excel spreadsheet to CSV is to import it into another program that can read and interpret CSV files.

So, ignoring the operating system as it is irrelevant in this case, my question is: what exactly are you trying to do here?
