Dear Seniors,
Seeking your kind guidance on the following....
(i) I have newly joined in a hospital sector in HR, its been newly started off, having employee strength of 7 nos. at present. Payroll process is been done at corporate office & they are deducting the PF contribution from employees salary. But its not deposited anywhere.
Now, my question is, can we apply for PF registration for a new set up with 7 employees only? And if we do so, can we get the registration done with retrospective date from when the contribution is deducted(from Dec'12) bcos I dont want the employees to be deprieve of their rights & benefits.
With Regards

It seems that Corporate Office is covered under the EPF Act and as such by virtue of Section 2 (a), the branch office is automatically stand covered from the date of start of branch office. It is advisable to take up the matter with Corporate office without delay in order to avoid Damages and Interest.

Dear Sir,
I have already discussed the matter with corporate office & they have asked me to get in touch with the local PF office personnel & get the registration of PF done.
Need to ask you, can we go for PF registration, if the no. of employees is less than 20 nos.?
And if yes, what is the proceedure to follow for registration.
Waiting for your reply please..

Pl. get the Code number of Corporate Office, contact the PRO of your Local PF Office for coverage under section 2-A. PRO will guide you for further steps to be taken. Branch Office of a covered establishment can be covered U/S 2-A with less than 20 number of employees but it will be covered from the due date I.e start of branch office. You may contact local Enforcement Officer also. You have to fill up Coverage Proforma meant for coverage u/s 2A or simply submit all relevant details to RPFC office/ EO.
