If the establishment has no work due to a recession, can the establishment lay off its employees because there is no work in the company? What is the procedure for a layoff?

Please follow the offer letter. Give them the notice period if you have time or pay the notice period as mentioned in the offer. The company asks the same if the employee resigns: to serve the notice or buy out the notice period. So, follow the same as mentioned in the offer even in the case of layoffs.
