Everything is going really well at work for me, thanks to your valuable opinions and suggestions. Today, I want your opinion on a very basic question. Actually, when my work from the previous day is pending, I know very well that tomorrow I have to go to the office and complete that work. But when there is no pending work, I feel confused after going to the office about what work I should do.
I am working as a junior HR Executive, and this is my first job after completing my MBA. My senior handles many of the tasks and gives me simple but productive work to do. As he is the senior HR of the company, he knows which work is pending and which work needs to be carried out. In short, he knows his work, but I don't know my work properly because I am new to this company. So, I have to keep on asking him what work I should do each day.
I ask him this question every day. If he is not busy, he gives me some work to do. However, if he is occupied, he concentrates on that and doesn't bother to assign any work to me. Many times, I sit idle during working hours. I don't like sitting idle at all; I prefer to keep working. However, he is quite old, so if I keep asking him for work, he gets irritated and stops talking to me.
Seeking Guidance on Daily HR Tasks
Now, I am really confused about what to do, so I am asking all of you: What are the basic tasks an HR must do every day upon arriving at the office? What work should be done throughout the day? Where should the day start, and where should it end? Also, could you please explain the duties and responsibilities of HR personnel?
Thank you,
Shriya
