Exploring Creativity in HR

I am Siddharth, and I am currently pursuing an MBA in HR. I am a creative guy, and my friends always suggest that I should focus more on learning about creativity in HR rather than just learning about traditional HR. However, I am always confused about the areas in which creativity can be applied in HR. Can anyone help me out?

Regards,
Siddharth

How about starting with engagement plans with defined objectives and measurable goals? For example, consider focusing on attrition percentage and CSF (Critical Success Factors) achievement.

Hi Siddharth, I fully endorse the contribution from ACT. Can you give examples of your creativity?

I guess we have a similar query. A few areas I know about and can share with you are employee engagement activities, HR policy drafting, and negotiations. These aspects require a great deal of creativity.

Well, you can utilize your creativity in different HR functions, and you can use it to customize depending on needs. Also, you can utilize your creativity in the implementations of HR functions.

My fellow site members have already given valuable inputs for your query, and I endorse their inputs. In my opinion, spend some time understanding the traditional HR practices and look at them with an open mind. You can use your creative skills to build upon what you learn. The results might surprise you. All the best.

Hello Siddharth, we are all treated to some excellent insights provided by Mr. Jacob and Mr. TSK Raman, thanks to your query. Creativity cuts across all boundaries. My view is that you should first get a bird's-eye view of the existing best practices in HR before you embark upon creative ideas. Some familiarization is a must. Otherwise, you might spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel!
