Uniform To Contratual Helpers

hello seniors,
im working witha PSU,i want to know under what law/rules would i distribute uniforms to contratual cleaners,gardeners as the permanent are already getting it to bring about parity.Is dar any law that will help me convince the management.please help

Hi Mayuri,
Leaving aside any Laws/Rules, it is good practice to issue uniforms to contractual staff for is maintains the image of your company and increases morale. This in itself is a powerful convincer,
I would however, suggest that you put to the contractors (in writing) that their final wages will be withheld until the uniform is returned in a clean condition.

But this alone reason would not convince the management as my previous proposal citing the same reason were not accepted so is there any legal binding on the employers regarding uniform that gives management a reason to look in to the matter.
