well nice rreply by hardeep but why should a recruiter call a candidate and keep him / her on hook just in case the first meritious candidate fails? well many companies including our company has a policy of keeping shortlisted candidates in hand just in case main candidate refuses to join. Also happened with me many times also as a candidate, have received the calls to attend interview final round after attending initial round 3-4 months ago, which means the person who was iniitially selected had left the job.
But what we advice aishwarya is that it is a market of first come first serve and business business even if after 2 months the co offers aishwarya and still she has not got any job means she will accept else if she already joined a new job she may refuse to join or may even leave her new job of 1 month and join this co.
Afterall even candidate needs to look at their needs and wants.
