I am unable to speak correct English, and due to this, I have lost many good opportunities this year. Kindly give me some tips on how I can improve my English skills as soon as possible.

Ways to Improve Oral English Skills

There are lots of ways to improve; I suggest that you carefully listen to broadcasts delivered in English on radio and television, particularly interviews. I find NDTV particularly good (NDTV is available online). Also, try to listen to the BBC; this is good to improve pronunciation. While there are a number of books and audio CDs available, there is a chance that the listener will soon get bored and give up.

The next step is to speak and speak correctly. Utilize any opportunity to speak small sentences. Speak loud and clear but make it short to start with. Read English newspapers. It does not matter even if it is old. Select the letters to the editor and the editor's page. Read aloud. It will be thrilling and exciting to hear your own voice falling on your ears when you are alone. Slowly talk to others boldly.
