Understanding My PF Account: How Do I Calculate the Total Amount Due?

krishnamoorthyh
I worked at a company for 20 months, from October 4, 2010, to July 14, 2012. Rs. 780 was deducted from my salary every month. Could you please provide me with the employer's contribution details and a comprehensive calculation of the total PF amount I will receive as I have requested to close this account? Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Krishna

Employer PF should be converted into two parts. One is Employer PF of Rs. 239/-, and the second one is Family Pension of Rs. 541/-. You can get Rs. 780/- + 239 * 20 = Rs. 20,380/- + Interest (Annual Interest 8.50%).

The Pension fund Rs. 541 * 20 = Rs. 10,820/- approximately (no interest is attracted for this amount; it's called service value).

Thank you very much for the calculation, Mr. Srini. If I close my PF account now, will I get the total of 20,380 + interest + 10,820? So the total comes around 31,000 + interest, am I correct?

Ok, great. At present, I have received the Form 19 claim amount yesterday, and both my Form 10C and 19 got approved. However, my 10C amount is pending from the PF office. Any idea how long it takes to get credited?
