Dear Sir,

I want to know about the bonus applicability. We are setting up a new manufacturing unit which is under construction from 01.01.07. The commercial production will be started w.e.f. 01.01.2009. When will the bonus be applicable? When will EPF & ESI be applicable? Kindly update me, please.

Hi Khushbu,

You can check with the Bonus Act and PF Act as there will be a lot of questions arising on this topic. For example:

1) Is it your sister's concern company?
2) Is it a totally new plant that does not have any connection with the previous one?
3) How many employees will be there at the beginning for commercial production?

There are many more questions, and I don't mind providing you with the details. However, it is better if you check with the acts for very basic issues. If you still don't understand, you can get back to me. I hope you will understand what I mean to say.
