How to Approach a Salary Review When Market Rates Are Higher Than Your Pay?

pankajinfo
I am working in an MNC with multiple inter-company locations in India. I am currently employed at Company A in New Delhi as a warranty analyst with a 5L CTC and 5 years of experience in this company. My total work experience is 10 years. A similar job position has been introduced at Company B in Hyderabad with the same job description and experience requirements, but the salary offered is 9L CTC, as listed on a job site.

Should I Discuss a Salary Review?

Should I discuss a salary review because I am not being compensated according to the job market? My superior has already mentioned that we will discuss salary during the appraisal period.

Definitely, you can discuss whether you are paid as per market standards, and also your experience and service can be highlighted in discussing the salary review.

Dear Pankaj,

It was mentioned by your manager that a salary review can be discussed during the appraisal. Therefore, it is advisable for you to address this matter during the appraisal. You will receive an email from your manager to schedule a one-on-one discussion. Please wait until you receive this communication.
