Confused About Holiday Allowance in My CTC: Is the INR 50,000 Actually Claimable?

sethuvinayagam
I have some doubts regarding the Holiday Allowance. In my CTC, they didn't mention any Holiday Allowance package. However, in the annexure, they mentioned, "Holiday Allowance is payable up to a maximum of INR 50,000 spread over 12 months."

Kindly clarify whether this amount is claimable.

Thanks in anticipation.

Rs. 50,000/- has been included in your total CTC package. If yes, this may refer to Leave Travel Allowance. This component carries Income Tax benefits for employees subject to conditions laid down in the IT Act. Actually, your employer should not mention Holiday Allowance in the CTC. If mentioned, you can't claim it in any way. You can automatically receive it if you attend your duties on declared holidays, subject to a maximum of INR 50,000 per annum.
