Transitioning from Education to Corporate HR: Is It Possible and How Can I Prepare?

vidhya.hd
Hi everyone! I am really happy that this site provides answers to all my HR-related queries. Thank you all. I need help. I am an MBA in HR with over 5 years of experience in an educational institution as an admin executive. Now, I would like to switch over to the corporate sector. Is it possible for me? Will they hire me? What will they expect from me, and how should I prepare myself to have a career there?

Learning SAP HR Module

Also, I would like to learn the SAP HR module. Will they help me as I don't have any idea about the SAP course? Will it add weight to my career search? Please help me out.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Vidhya, as per your post, it shows that you have 2 to 3 queries as per the following:

1. What kind of services sector do you want to work in?
2. Right now, what kind of profile do you handle? Is it a Generalist Profile or an Admin Profile?
3. If you are interested in the SAP HR module, then firstly, go through what kind of industries the SAP HR module is mostly used in. According to my knowledge, it is mostly used in the manufacturing area (perhaps 70% of SAP HR module usage is in manufacturing industries).

Hope this is helpful for you to learn more.

Regards,
Dev

Hi Mr. Dev, I actually like to go into the IT sector or any reputed manufacturing company like Hyundai, and so on. My profile is in administration. Regarding SAP, I have some idea now. Thank you. Currently, my take-home pay is $20,000. What salary package can I expect from a future employer according to my profile? Can anyone help me out, please?

I'm in Chennai. Actually, I'd like to learn the SAP HR module to add weight to my profile and seek a good position in a corporation. Is it wrong?

No, it's not wrong, but you will start your career with the first step. Your previous experience in administration may not be so useful. However, nothing is IMPOSSIBLE if you learn to read this sentence as I-M-POSSIBLE. Best of luck.
