Can I Cancel My Job Application in UAE Without Legal Trouble or Fees?

Hi, I need help. I'm on a visit visa in the UAE and was offered a job by a company. I signed the appointment letter, but now I have decided to cancel my job application. They have my passport on hold, and they said they will process my employment visa. My question is, are there any legal implications if I cancel my job application? Can I get my passport without any restrictions from the company? Do I need to pay a certain amount?

It seems like a sudden change of mind on your part. How long has it been since you were employed with this organization? What salary, designation, period of contract, etc., were discussed? What's the notice period clause? Referring to your appointment letter, please do tell the name of the city and state where jurisdiction matters may be settled.

I am sure if they have processed your visa and incurred a lot of expenses on you, it would not be easy to get away from the situation. Please also clarify the duration and type of visa (tourist or work permit) your organization has arranged for you.

Warm regards,
Umesh Chaudhary
