Are Apprentices Covered Under the EPF & MP Act 1952? Seeking Clarification

Please kindly clarify whether 'apprentices' are excluded or included in the EPF & MP Act 1952.

Apprentices and EPF Coverage

An apprentice engaged following the Apprentice Act and those engaged following the certified Standing Orders of the establishment are excluded from the coverage of the Employees' Provident Fund. All other trainees are treated at par with any other employee.
