Who Handles Exit Interviews When HR Staff Resign? Seeking Fresh Perspectives

maitri
Hi,

HR conducts the exit interviews of resigned employees in an organization. However, who conducts the exit interview of HR staff who have resigned? Can anyone provide me with some fresh perspectives on this?

Hi Maitri,

In this case, if a junior person quits, then a senior member in the team will take over. In the event of a senior member quitting, the most senior person, possibly someone from management, will step in. Is it clear?

Hi,

In this case, it is the HR manager themselves resigning. If it is the HR manager resigning, then the director/president/CEO/CLO takes the exit. If it is the CEO or any C-level or V-level employee, then the HR manager/head is responsible for conducting the exit. An exit is just a formality. It holds applicable in many organizations only when there is a need to carry out an exit because the resignee has an ulterior reason for leaving that they do not want documented.

Thank you for reaching out.

If the staff has complaints about his/her boss (HR Manager), how will these concerns be addressed during the exit interview conducted by the HR Manager?

I hope I have clarified my point.

Hi Maitri,

I agree with you. If the reason behind the exit of HR staff is his/her boss (maybe a conflict with the boss or anything else), then the employee may not give real feedback. Even if he/she gives real feedback, will it be documented by the boss? Someone, please shed some light on this.

Thank you.
