This is an entry-level role for those wanting to enter the Human Resources sector. An HR administrator/assistant will be involved in every level of administration through all of the main disciplines.

Job Description of HR Admin

The job description (JD) of an HR Admin varies from industry to industry and company to company. It may include:

• Responsible for handling transport-related queries.
• Taking care of travel - domestic and international.
• Managing STPI and customs.
• Overseeing office administration.
• Handling purchases.

Alternatively, the role may involve:

• Independently managing overall recruitment, including preparing job descriptions, analyzing job requirements, and finalizing candidates. Designing and implementing a sourcing strategy.
• Ensuring compliance with SOPs and company policies.
• Designing the organizational structure with future expansion plans in mind.
• Ensuring the optimum utilization of human resources, i.e., manpower planning and deployment.

HR ADMIN is a very broad and ambiguous term. The best person to provide specific details would be the spokesperson of the company or a recruiter.

Interview Preparation Tips

As far as preparation for the interview is concerned, stick to basics and work on your HR/Man management skills. Study the terms mentioned in the JD and your responsibilities. In your resume, mention only what you have exactly done in your previous assignments and do not over-mention.
