EDLI CLAIM OF DECESAED EMPLOYEE RESIGNED BUT DIED BEFORE FILING CLAIM FORM

ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEE RESIGNED FROM OUR SERVICE IN JUNE 2012 AND BEFORE FILING HIS PF CLAIM FORMS, DIED DUE TO ILLNESS IN DEC 2012. OUR EDLI IS COVERED BY LIC. NOW KINDLY LET ME KNOW THAT IS HE ELEIGIBLE TO GET THE EDLI CLAIM.

Person once resigned and relieved he is ceased to be an employee. Para 22 of the scheme says, on death of an employee who is a member of EPF, the persons entitled to PF accumulations be paid the EDLI. Under the circumstances in your case no claim of EDLI will be entertained.
