Leaving During Probation: Will I Get My Relieving and Experience Letters?

Pradeep@MM
I'm working in an MNC company for 6 months. As per the company policy, my probation period is 1 year. However, I want to terminate my job now with proper relieving procedures, and I am ready to work for a 2-month advance notice period. I need both a relieving letter and an experience letter for the 6 months I have worked. If I am relieved during the probation period, will the company provide me with a proper relieving letter and experience letter? I need your suggestions.

Understanding Separation Policies During Probation

How does the separation policy in your firm define your situation? You have decided on the right path. During probation, there is ideally no notice period. However, since you are ready to pay for two months, it covers you further. How were the other employees who left their employment during probation managed?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, it doesn't matter whether you resigned during a normal employment condition or while on probation. If you are ready to follow the procedure as stated in your appointment/joining letter, they will provide you with a relieving and experience letter for the period you worked for them.

Concerns About Resignation

I would like to know why and who put you in this questionable situation, or what made you feel like raising this concern. Is there anything that you still have not shared with us and are worried about? In normal work conditions, employers never hesitate to relieve employees or provide an experience letter if everything goes according to the terms and conditions of employment and the employee follows the procedure. Since you are ready, you do not need to worry about anything. However, if there is anything wrong, feel free to share with us so that we can help you in an appropriate way.

Since you are willing to complete the notice period, there should be no problem. You need to send a formal resignation letter to your HR and manager, clearly stating you are willing to do the normal 2-month notice period. Also, speak personally to them when giving the letter. There is no reason why they will not give you the relieving and experience letter.

Usually, the notice period during probation will be 15 days or so, as opposed to 2 or three months after confirmation. I understand that the 2-month notice would be for resignation after confirmation. Check your offer and appointment letters for details. Technically and legally, you need to work for the prescribed notice period. As part of a proper resignation, there should be no issue from the employer's side to provide you with the relieving/experience letters.

Normally in my company, the notice period for the employee is 2 months (after the probation period). However, I don't know what the notice period is for employees during probation. Also, in my team, no one is relieved during the probation period as far as I know.

As per your last thread, you shared that there is a 2-month notice period for confirmed employees. However, you don't know what the notice period is for those employees who are in the probation period. By reading your appointment letter and the clauses regarding resignation and termination of services, you will find all the necessary information. Once you have the information regarding resignation, you can serve notice. Management will issue you a relieving letter with an experience certificate if you follow the terms and conditions outlined in your appointment letter.

I need to join the government job on August 24th in Bangalore. I have already resigned today from my current company, but there has been no acknowledgment from them. They say it's a billing loss for them, and I compulsorily need to serve a three-month notice period. Please help me find a way out. The offer letter states, "Your services may be terminated by either party giving notice in writing for three months or payment of salary in lieu thereof. The company reserves the right to not accept notice in lieu of notice."

Please help as neither party is ready to understand. The government organization is not willing to extend the joining time. Please help.
