Feeling Stuck After Probation: Should I Approach HR or Wait for Their Call?

Hi Friends, I need a suggestion. My probation period of six months is over. According to the document, the probation period may be extended. My question is: Should I meet with my HR? If I meet with him, what should I say/request? Or should I wait until they call?

Due to not receiving any response/feedback from my HR, I am feeling demotivated at work. My confidence is diminishing, and I feel insecure about my job.

Please provide your valuable suggestions.

You have not been informed as to when the probation was over. After probation is complete, the HR will review the performance reports from the probation period. If the HR is satisfied with your performance, it will confirm your status. This process may take some time as there could be internal procedures for confirmation, such as submitting a note to the competent authority or recommending your confirmation, which may cause delays. If the confirmation process is significantly delayed, you can initially send an email to HR requesting confirmation. This will notify HR about your confirmation status in case the matter has been postponed due to other urgent tasks requiring HR's attention.

If there was anything in hiding, you would have already sensed it from the way your reporting manager or HR communicates with you. Moreover, if there were any performance issues, you would have been notified. So please relax. No news is often good news.

I would recommend speaking with Mr. Keshav; there is no harm in asking about it, and employees should not hesitate to contact their boss directly. HR personnel are also responsible for addressing your questions/queries, so you should reach out to them again.

- Why did you only just notice that your probation period could be extended and not that your employment could be confirmed with them? Review the documents/employment/appointment letter again.

Hi everybody, my probation period completed on the 5th of March '13. I am worried because interviews are ongoing for our process, and secondly, I am looking for a salary revision/increment according to company policy. (I have no idea about my company's salary policy.)

Leave Policy During Probation Period

During the probation period, there is only one leave allowed per month, whereas it's two or more after the probation period. Keeping this in mind, I took a two-day leave. Therefore, it's important for me to know where I stand. Otherwise, it will affect my salary.
