Every state in India has different minimum wages based on the category of employees. The calculation of minimum wages varies from state to state. For example, in some states like Chhattisgarh, the daily minimum wage rate is given, which we have to multiply by 26 days and consider the amount arrived at as the minimum wage. States like Andhra Pradesh give minimum wages based on zones and categories of employees. Zone I includes all metro cities and municipalities, Zone II comprises smaller towns and Zilla Parishads, and Zone III comprises Panchayats, Taluks, and villages. You need to remember this and calculate minimum wages accordingly.
