Hi all,

How would you design a Decision Support System (DSS) for HR in your organization? Do you think computerizing the HR processes would speed up decision-making? Do you believe HR can provide crucial inputs to top management, and by implementing a DSS, do you think it would improve time and quality? Is anyone working on this? Kindly explain.

Decision Support Systems are necessary to improve the HR processes within the organization. Depending upon the size of the company, you can either buy products or build your own. The following analysis could be done once the systems are running:

Recruitment: Analyzing Recruitment Source Effectiveness, Identify Recruitment Needs.
Compensation: Compensation Profiling at a group basis. Determine if you are compensating top performers adequately.
Training: Determine Training Effectiveness, Training Costs fitting into the budget.
Workforce Administration: Attrition Analysis and Headcount Reports in Different Views including Business Units, Departments, Locations.

Systems can help you make proactive decisions.
