Pt Payment Query - Doc Download

Dear Seniours...
Here we have paid monthly PT contributions to Ahmedabad muncipal corporation, by proper filling up the PT challan.
However recently we have received notice from ahmedabad grampanchat office, through talathi, saying that we have to get PT registration from grampanchayat office, and do the payment to them.
Here i m confused, to whom we should pay. to the muncipal authorities or grampanchayat authroities. Our business unit falls in grampanchayat?
Can any one suggest, which is the right authority in this case for PT remittance...

you are in cover in grampanchayat then you have to pay PT to grampanchayat. there is not under cover of AMD municipality.

The Professional Tax is the Revenue for the local body. If the Establishment/firm/Co. is situated within the jurisdiction of a Gram Panchayat then the PT has to be remitted to the respective Gram Panchayat only, like wise the Regn.under PT also has to precede. In your case if the Ahmedabad Corporation is not the appropriate authorities,it seems. So reply to the notice attaching the proof of past remittances made to Ahmd.Corporation and try to rectify/transfer to the Gram Panchayat.

That's what i want to get confirm. If anyone has any circular / notification/by-laws detials, kindly share with us. Need to refer the same, while discussing with top management.

Almost everything is available on the Net. You should put some effort to trace them. Here is the Act (Amendment) For Original Act better you can buy a Bare Act and keep referring together with these amendments. Keep them updated.

I have gone through the internet details, and found that in the gujrat; the professional tax shall be imposed by muncipal authorities, muncipalty and grampanchayat. However couldn't found the notification, circular and by-laws.
You have helped me a lot, now i can confidentaly present to the top management and convince them through the details, provided by you, which has no challenge but to follow the state rule.
