Professional Tax Query

Hi,
Will anyone update, on the professional tax payment? Our Industry falling under grampanchayat of ahmedabad, so the employees Professional tax we should pay to whom? grampanchayat or muncipal corporation?

I think and as per my knowledge the Professional Tax is comes under Commercial Tax Dept. Then you have to pay the contribution of PT to VAT authorities of your LVO.
Please, correct me if I am wrong.

Here we have paid monthly PT contributions to Ahmedabad muncipal corporation, by proper filling up the PT challan.
However recently we have received notice from ahmedabad grampanchat office, through talathi, saying that we have to get PT registration from grampanchayat office, and do the payment to them.
Here i m confused, to whom we should pay. to the muncipal authorities or grampanchayat authroities. Our business unit falls in grampanchayat?
Can any one suggest, which is the right way for PT remittance...

As per my best knowledge most of the Gram Panchayat has been covered under Municipal Corporation, with regards to your querry if your establishment comes under Gram Panchayat you are suppossed to register your Professional Tax and contribute to the said Gram Panchayat only. Your Talati is correct
Also let us know which Gram Panchyat your office is located. Here would also like to point that from where did you get your Shops & Establishment/Factory Registered
