In accordance with the provision as stipulated in section 1(3) of the EPF and MP Act, 1952, 20 employees are required to cover the establishment under the EPF Act. If the employment strength is fewer than 20 employees in the organization, an establishment could be covered in accordance with the provisions as mentioned in 1(4) of the Act on the mutual consent of both the parties, i.e., employee and the employer.
Documents Required for EPF Coverage
For coverage of the establishment under this act, the following papers are required:
1. PAN of the Company
2. 1st Sale Bill
3. 1st Purchase Bill Raw Material
4. 1st Purchase Bill Machinery
5. Memorandum of Association and Articles in case of Pvt/Ltd Company
6. Partnership deed, in the case of a partnership firm
7. List of employees
8. Coverage Proforma
9. Cross Cancelled Cheque
10. Address proof of the authorized signatory/directors/prop/partner
11. ST/CST/VAT Registration Certificate if registered with the Sales Tax Department
12. Central Excise Registration No if any
13. Service Tax No if any
14. In the case of Society, Trust, etc., Registration of the organization with the concerned authority.
