Complete Guide on PF Transfer Process and Time Duration

What is the procedure for transferring a PF account from a previous company to the present company, and what is the time duration required for the complete transfer?

---

The transfer of a Provident Fund (PF) account from one company to another involves a few steps. Firstly, you need to fill out a PF transfer form, which is Form 13. This form can typically be obtained from your current employer or the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) website. You will need to provide details such as your old PF account number, current PF account number, and both company's details.

Once you have filled out the form, submit it to your current employer. They will then initiate the transfer process by verifying the details and forwarding the form to the EPFO. The EPFO will process the transfer request, and the funds will be transferred from your old PF account to the new one with your current employer.

The time duration required for the complete transfer can vary. It usually takes around 20-30 days for the transfer to be completed, but this timeline can be influenced by factors such as the efficiency of the EPFO and the accuracy of the information provided in the transfer form. It is advisable to regularly check the status of your transfer request through the EPFO portal or by contacting your current employer's HR department.

If you have any specific queries regarding the transfer of your PF account, it is recommended to reach out to the HR department of your current company for assistance.

Good day,

The present company will open a new PF account. Then, you have to submit Form 13 (Transfer Form) to the PF office. The previously contributed funds will be transferred to the new account. The time period will be a maximum of 6 months. Now processing is online, so the time period may be less.

Thanks

I agree with Deearaj, but on the same subject, I want to add one more thing. You have to collect Form-10 from the last company and Form-05 from the current company. With both of these forms, you have to submit Form-13 at your local EPF office.

Dear Friends,

The above-given information is correct. If you are working in a good company, you don't need to submit or visit the PF Office. Just fill up the PF transfer form and submit it to your finance department. They will take care of the remaining work related to sending the transfer form.

Please reconfirm the time period for submitting PF transfer Form-13. One of our employees wants to submit a PF transfer from the previous company to the present company. However, he joined our company (Present company) four years ago and initially did not transfer the PF amount. He has received a new PF number from our company (Present company) but has neither settled the PF amount nor transferred the amount for the past four years. Now, he prefers to transfer the PF amount to the present company. Any advice on this? Regards
