Facing Job Rejection Due to Non-Formal Education: Can TCS Make an Exception?

I have come across a very unfortunate situation where my friend applied for TCS. He cleared all the rounds, and in the final HR round, he was withheld just because he had completed his class 10th from the National Open School (now NIOS). Why is such an education system not considered an eligible requirement for jobs in a company like TCS? Even correspondence and part-time education are not accepted here in TCS.

My friend is demoralized. His prospective reporting manager (Zonal Head) says that he will confirm and seek approval for waiving this requirement. Will that work, as I believe it may go against the HR recruitment policy of TCS? Is there something that can be done in this regard?

In TCS, they may forgo some requirements if the candidate is exceptionally good. Therefore, let the Zonal Head handle this, as you cannot influence the company's internal policies. Also, please advise your friend not to be demotivated, as there are many other companies in the world. Encourage him to keep trying in other organizations as well. All the best.

Hi Anita, even after receiving the recognition certificate from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) following a mail sent to TCS regarding the non-acceptance of open schooling, which was sent by NIOS to the TCS Kolkata and Mumbai offices, my friend is not receiving any positive feedback. Now, my friend has reached out to someone holding an Associate Vice President (AVP) rank, who has requested him to send a detailed email regarding the issue. The AVP mentioned, "Let's see how I can take this matter forward."

My question here is, even if his Zonal head (who would be his reporting boss) is unable to obtain the necessary approval, and the concerned HR personnel in TCS Mumbai and Kolkata are not responding, will his last hope, the AVP, be able to turn the situation around?

I need guidance on this, as he is making all these efforts because he does not want to leave any stone unturned (showing his fighting spirit).
