Confused by Mixed Messages: Should I Resign After a Recent Positive Review?

Dear All, I was given an increment and appreciation letter from my company in December with a rating of "Good." Now, my company wants me to resign as my performance is not good. But, in one month, how can the company say both good and bad? Should I resign, or fight against the company?

Steps to Address a Resignation Request

Do one thing: go to HR and tell them to provide the reasons why they are requesting your resignation. Get the details in writing. Initially, they may oppose this, but you should stick to your words. Explain that you are seeking justification for their decision.

Review the points they have raised against you that led to the resignation request. If you believe these points are incorrect, respond to each point with your justification. Wait for their reply before making any decisions. Do not resign until you have clarified all the details.
