How to Safely Install a Lightning Arrestor on a 60-Meter Furnace Stack?

Dear Professionals,

In our company premises, there is a 60-meter-high furnace stack. We are required to install a Lightning Arrestor on it and a ladder with a guardrail attached to it. Please guide me and send safety precautions and a checklist for the same. The Lightning Arrestor weighs approximately 8 kgs. This is a risky job, and the ladder is 20 years old.

You clearly stated that the 'Ladder was 20 years old'. Please make sure to check with Mechanical/Structural Engineering before starting work. The Lightning Arrestor weighs only 8 kg, so I don't think it's a big issue to install.
