Understanding Professional Tax

I work in Delhi and would like to know about Professional Tax. Is it applicable in Delhi, Haryana, and U.P. or not? Please reply to me and also inform me about its slab of deductions, any return filing formalities, where and in which department we need to deposit it if we deduct it. Additionally, please provide information on its submission deadlines and provisions for damages.

It is only a proposal. It has not yet been notified by the Andhra Pradesh Government in the Gazette. Unless it is notified in the Gazette, we cannot treat it as final.

Please go through G.O. Ms. No. 82 regarding the revised Professional Tax slabs in Andhra Pradesh. How can you confirm if the revised rates will be applicable from February 2013 onwards? Is there any Gazette notification released for applicability against the above G.O.? If it is available, please attach it and then confirm its applicability.

There is no effective date mentioned in the notification G.O. Ms. NO. 82. Can anybody provide the notification mentioning the effective date of the revised P Tax slab for AP?

As per the website of the Commercial Tax Department of Andhra Pradesh, the same has already been amended. Please visit the Commercial Tax Department website for the same.
