Left Without Notice: Do I Really Owe My Full Salary Back to the Company?

Hi Seniors, I request you to clarify the notice period if payable from the employee's side. I have left the company without a 1-month notice period, and now they are asking me to pay the same. Until then, my final settlement and PF have been held.

Clarification on Notice Period Payment

My CTC was ₹28,000, but my net was ₹23,190 after deducting a medical claim of ₹1,250, professional tax of ₹200, and a PF deduction of ₹3,360. Now the company is asking me to pay ₹28,000. Please clarify why I should have to pay for the other components too when I have already left the company.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Thanks,
Andrews

If you are a confirmed employee, you should give one month's notice pay (as mentioned in the appointment letter). If you are on probation, then you do not need to give one month's notice pay. You should give them one month's basic salary; other components should not be included in the notice pay.
