Payment of Gratuity Amendment: How Will Doubling the Gratuity Impact Employers?

Payment of Gratuity Amendment Bill

Please find attached the draft of the Payment of Gratuity Amendment Bill, which aims to increase the Gratuity amount from 15 days to 30 days for every completed year of service. This means the Gratuity liability is being doubled once the amendment comes into force.

I understand the mistake I made by uploading this document to the site. Thereafter, I tried to retrieve it, but to no avail. I received this information from a leading consultant in South India, which they have circulated to all their member organizations, almost 1,000 employers. I thought this would be new information to share with members and hence uploaded it.

If any worker has completed 5 years but has not completed 240 days in one year, is he eligible for gratuity? Please advise.
