How Do I Transfer My PF from a Closed Organization to My Current Employer?

jsathish
Hi, I need help from you. My previous organization no longer exists, and I need to transfer my PF amount to my current employer. Can someone help me with the steps involved? The PF office where I had the amount is an inter-state one.

Just submit Form 13 to your current employer, and they will process the transfer of your PF. Do not worry; your current employer will take care of the PF transfer. I am attaching Form 13 for your needs. Write for further assistance.

Please follow the instructions given by Mr. Nayak and fill out Form No. 13 in duplicate. Hand it over to the current employer for further action.

Respected Govind Singh Negi, R B Yadav, Advocate, M/s Y & K Associates, Santosh KN,

Your advice is right, sir. However, I think the advice should be more detailed because usually, most PF members, like Sathish (but not Mr. Sathish), will go to the present HR with a blank form, sign it, and want their PF amount transferred. They don't even know the full PF account number or the establishment code. These details can't be collected by the present HR.

How can it be possible for the present HR to contact all of the newly appointed employees' past companies? To fill out Form-13, the PF member has to carry some details from the past employer to the present employer. These are as follows:

1. Name — as it was in the Past PF Account (as per PF slip)
2. Father's/Husband's name in the case of married women — as per past records (past form 2)
3. Name & Address of Previous Employer — as registered with the PF office
4. EPF Account Number with the previous employer — Total region/office/estd/member code
5. By whom the PF account of the previous establishment is kept — Regional PF Commissioner
6. Date of leaving service with the previous employer — as per previous employer monthly returns records

If any employee collects all the above data from the previous employer, it will be very easy for the present employer to process the application.

Mr. Sathish's Case

Mr. Sathish, you also have to provide all this information to your HR. If you have any records containing the above details, give them to the present HR. Then your application will get processed very fast.

Mr. Sathish, if your present employer and yourself find any problem with finding the establishment code or regional office of the past employer, feel free to contact me.

Is your previous organization locked, or have you resigned? Only then will the problem be sorted out. You have mentioned that your previous organization no longer exists.

Appreciate all your responses. I need one more clarification: is the PF account (mentioned in the post) from my first employer? Currently, I am with my third employer in my career. I have already transferred my second employer's PF to my third employer. Is it possible to transfer my first employer's PF to my third employer? I have all the account information such as PF number and establishment code.

Formal Resignation and Organization Dissolution

I formally resigned from the organization. After 15 days, my organization was dissolved by the employer himself.

Yes, you can transfer your first employer's PF to your third employer. You only need to write a letter to the PF Office stating the reason for the delay in transferring the accumulations. Then, submit it with Form-13 duly attested by your present employer.

The amount contributed towards the PF account is all yours. You have full rights to that amount. Please fill out Form 13 with all the necessary details and submit it to your current employer.
