Understanding ESI Process: How Long Until You Get Your Permanent Card and What Are the Legal Steps?

Manas Ranjan Pal
Dear All,

Can anyone explain to me what the aging process of ESI is? From the date of joining to receiving the permanent card by the IP, what should be the time gap? Are there any legal provisions to submit Employees Declaration Forms, etc., in ESI Office?

Thank you,

Hi,

The Form 1 of ESIC (Nomination Form) must be submitted to the ESI Local office within 10 days of an employee's date of employment.

Upon submitting the documents, the ESIC department shall issue an Insurance Number and Temporary Identification Certificate. Later on, you may issue the Temporary Identification Certificate to your employees. The Temporary Identification Certificate is valid for 3 months in case the permanent identity card is not received within three months.
