How Should I Design a Motivation Questionnaire for Different Employee Levels?

P.shalini
Hi friends, I want a questionnaire for my project to assess the motivation levels of a company with 180 employees. Should I prepare different questionnaires for employees at different levels and in various departments, or is a standard questionnaire for the entire organization sufficient? Please assist me as soon as possible!

Regards, Shalini.

Hi Shalini, I understand that an internship is a short period for learning new things. To make the most of it, I suggest you first draft your questionnaire, and then seek help from seniors for valuable suggestions and feedback.

As mentioned earlier, we lack knowledge about your company and its people. You, being with them for some time, have insights. Consult your project guide at the company to understand the people and create a motivation questionnaire. There is no need to categorize the questionnaires based on hierarchy unless specified by your project guide.

When Framing Questions, Consider:

1. Work hours and work-life balance
2. Male/Female ratio
3. Include a few open-ended questions to understand individual motivations
4. Since you are pursuing an MBA, ensure the questionnaire is detailed, providing valuable learning points.

Hope this helps :)

You have to frame different questionnaires for different categories of employees (as per the company hierarchy), but remember to group them judiciously and keep them limited in number. Please ensure that the questionnaire is not very bulky and maintains privacy for the respondent. At the top of the questionnaire, mention that names need not be included and invite free and frank opinions.
