Can We Pay Professional Tax Under Our Client's Registration for Employees in Hyderabad?

Few of our employees work from our client's premises in Hyderabad. Our office is in Mumbai, and they are on our payroll. We do not have any office in Hyderabad. Can we pay PT under our client's PT registration?

Profession Tax Obligations for Employees in Hyderabad

Profession Tax is purely a state subject. Therefore, if anyone is earning income by working in Hyderabad, they are liable to pay profession tax in Hyderabad, even though the payroll processing takes place in Bombay. You can process profession tax for those who are working at clients' locations in Hyderabad at the rate prescribed by Andhra Pradesh and send it to Hyderabad for payment. There is nothing wrong with remitting the same along with the employees of your client.
