thanks-i can only say i am usually forceful in putting forth my point.i have never said you are wrong.I later realised i have been sharp in my replies & sometimes may have commented personally.don't take this as a judgement on you, just my view on HR practice which may not be suitable in every industry.Im also sorry as i think some comments hv been critical which i regret it now.I know i cant say i hv been as humble as you in reply keeping in mind gender difference. Thanks for the healthy discussion & as to HR practice i can say we will make a great team-you being soft & stubborn & i being unapologetic(good cop bad cop)-jokes apart it was my pleasure to hear widely different radical views.Lets keep sharing views inspite of differences.

Dear Sid
I am on the same page with you by suggesting that management shall not tolerate indiscipline. If you see my previous post, I recommend even disciplinary action against those who do not wear uniform. What I wanted to communicate is that an action is possible if it is made part of company's policy or an agreement or part of standing orders to enable the mangement to enforce discipline on this count.I hope I stood calrified.

Dear All,
Sure this is not on Dressing policy - something that is in question on this thread But surely it would help us in developing our HR frames and policies. As stated in earlier posts, what works for one may not work for all, but atleast we can have knowledge sharing here.

Dear Member.

Really this seems to be a panic problem when your sub ordinates are not following or even interested in companies direction's or policies in any terms as not coming in uniform..

Few things i would like to say that if from long time those employees are working and earlier dress codes were not mandatory to them then it will take some to adopt this trend in fact,

Just try to mark which employees are not coming in uniform,

Give them written warning on notice boards,

Paste same notice in their department where they work,

Try to stop them at security check gate that they should come in uniform only,

Do not let your companies work hazzle, as few of them can ignore coming to office also,

try some psychological tips, sit with them ( Team Leader/Unit Head), or talk to the leaders who has deep presence in employee or in team and try to convey your message that this is not my personal demand , it is top management decisions and we all have to accept for organisational growth and to respect the companies rules, regulations, code of conduct etc.

Give them proper time to understand the policies value, uniform value , in spite of taking strong action against them practically just give them a dose of salary deduction ,or they may not be listed for best employee of the year award etc..

try new plans and strategies , i am sure after some time you will succeed............

Dear All,
I am working as an HR in a Real Estate company in Noida.
We are having Dress Code policy and Office timing Policy in place still employees are coming late, availing unauthorized leaves and not wearing business formals as per policy. they are violating the Company policy. As an HR, I am being scolded from the Top management for not wearing formals and irregularity & absenteeism.
Please draft mails to reduce or finish the same.
I will be thankful to you.
