Need Websites That Can Provide Material For My Ph.D.

navya.anu
Hi,

I am doing my PhD on HR motivation practices in the IT sector. Can anyone tell me where I can find old articles or references online for the review of literature regarding the topics of "motivation" and the "Information Technology sector"? Please suggest any websites, forums, or links so that I can search for related topics for my research.

Thanks,
Navya

Dear Navya,

Have you searched the web using keywords from your query for scholarly articles? If you have not, I suggest you kindly do that first. By doing that, I found one at How Culture and Motivation Interacts?: – A Cross-Cultural Study.

At what stage of your PhD are you? Have you submitted a synopsis and got it approved?

Dear Navya,

Please avoid using SMS texting language. Have you come across the link that I sent you? Has your guide not provided any help?

You can find the link here: http://iacis.org/iis/2005/AlAlawi.pdf available at motivation and information technology scholarly articles - Google Search

Thank you.

Dear Nashbramhall,

I am going through the link you have sent. As a Research Scholar, it is my duty to gather information, compile chapters, and present them for his review and guidance. Generally, at this level, they will not spoon-feed much and just advise to search online. Up to now, I have done the same and gathered a lot of information, but I am stuck with my review of the literature part where I need works previously done with corresponding references.

Thanks to everyone for their support and advice.

Dear Simhan,

I'm an MBA-HR professional and have been working in HR in the manufacturing industry for the past 5 years. I am planning to start my Ph.D. soon. Before enrolling in any university, I would like to be specific about the topic of my research. Therefore, I seek your advice. My interest lies in the fields of Performance Management, Training & Development, Behavior changes, etc., particularly for manufacturing organizations. Could you please guide me or suggest a challenging and useful topic?

Thank you.

Dear Gari,

Thank you for the request and for providing me with some information about your background and interests.

What matters in pursuing a Ph.D. is, in addition to your interest, the feasibility of collecting primary data. Therefore, you need to consider which organization will grant you access. For instance, a researcher's interest was Total Quality Management (TQM) in Higher Education. Although the individual was an academic and could get people to respond to questionnaires, the respondents were not available for interviews, hindering the researcher from triangulating the results. I assume you are familiar with the concept of triangulation in research methodologies. Consequently, the researcher could not complete their Ph.D.

Hence, my suggestion is to read recent literature on the topics to discover what others have undertaken, where, how, and why they approached it that way and also to assess any existing gaps in the research field. When pursuing a Ph.D., it is crucial to contribute something novel to the knowledge repository. A Ph.D. is not conferred for reiterating what has already been accomplished by others.

Kind regards,
