Amendments to the Workmen's Compensation Act 1923

• In the year 2009, the Workmen's Compensation Act 1923 was amended. Wherever "Workman" or "workmen" is mentioned in the entire act, it should be read as "Employee."

• As per Sec 1(3), all employees, irrespective of their status or salaries, whether directly employed, through a contractor, or required to work abroad, will be covered under the act.
